Job Summary

Provide routine academic/counseling information, assessment, and referral services for the Districts students. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position.

Essential Functions

Answer phone, schedule appointments, greet students, respond to questions, and refer students to other college support services. Distribute informational material to faculty, staff, and students.

Provide support to Counselors and Academic Advisors as requested.

Assist with preparation for student registration of specialized populations such as Nursing and Health Careers, with generating course histories, and developing Excel spreadsheets using student information.

Assist in the preparation of forms and reports.

Screen students for counseling and student services. Assist counseling staff with new student orientation activities. Perform routine assessment of students academic needs.

Responsible for providing remote assistance to students, faculty, and staff. Plan, organize, and manage online calendars and sign-ins.

Maintain students records, logs, and databases.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  1. Associates degree and one (1) year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

NOTE: A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application.

  3. Effective interpersonal, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.

  4. Ability to handle confidential information.

  5. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).

Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework.
