The Office of Graduate Programs in the Harbert College of Business is currently accepting applications for the position of Student Services Coordinator. This position supports the Harbert College of Business mission of producing highly desired graduates through the implementation of high-quality student initiatives. Student success is fostered through the oversight of student orientation, academic support services, student events, and strategic communication. Continuous improvement of student programming through data-driven assessment promotes the academic and professional growth of graduate business students, preparing them for a successful future.

 

Responsibilities:
The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage orientation for all Full Time and Online Graduate Business Students by updating online orientation courses each semester and enrolling students once they are enrollment confirmed. Orientation courses give an overview of AU resources, program specific guidelines, faculty and staff support, and academic preparation materials to provide students with tools that will help them succeed in their programs.

 

 
  • Manage timely and consistent communication with all new enrollment confirmed Graduate Business Students prior to their start semester through the collaborative execution of strategic Salesforce email campaigns for the purpose of increasing student engagement and decreasing student attrition
 
  • Maintain Canvas courses that house repositories of information for all currently enrolled Graduate Business Students by updating course lists, plans of study, program options, academic policies, graduation requirements, student events, and academic support schedules to ensure students have accurate and reliable information that will assist them as they progress through their graduate business program.
 
  • Deliver critical, time sensitive information to all currently enrolled Graduate Business Students through a series of strategically timed announcements that address topics related to the academic calendar, advising, student events, and program updates to enhance the student experience and help students succeed.
 
  • Build courses and schedule classrooms for graduate BUSI courses in the CourseLeaf and AdAstra systems through engagement with the timelines and protocols established by the registrar’s office to ensure strong collaboration with schedulers across the college and a smooth period of student registration for each upcoming semester.
 
  • Implement a peer tutoring program by training, scheduling, and supervising Graduate Assistant Peer Tutors so that robust academic support aimed at helping graduate business students succeed is readily available in select BUSI graduate courses
 
  • Track all Graduate Business Students who defer their entry term with the execution of a collaborative workflow of administrative protocols and student communication to ensure that students continue engaging with the program during their deferral, to prevent attrition, and to provide students with tools that will help them succeed when they start their program.
 
  • Collaborate with teams to plan and execute all Graduate Business Programs student events by sending invitations, keeping attendee lists, collecting relevant student data, engaging with vendors, and being present before, during, and after events to ensure the delivery of high-quality events that will enhance the student experience.
 
  • Create and disseminate surveys for the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data related to student services programming for data driven assessments that guide future planning and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
 
  • Perform other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:

Level I:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Valid Driver's License

 

Level II:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in advising and/or coordinating student services or experience related to the specific academic area.
  • Valid Driver's License

 

Level III:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience in advising and/or coordinating student services or experience related to the specific academic area.
  • Valid Driver's License


SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED FOR EXPERIENCE: Yes, When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
