REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in social work or related area (psychology, child development).
Experience: Three (3) or more years of experience in social work or related area.
- Assist in achieving the short- and long-term educational goals of the school corporation by supporting student success through coordinated academic, behavioral, and social-emotional services.
- Establish, lead, and support a comprehensive Student Support Team process that identifies student strengths and needs, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
- Identify students in need of assistance and connect them to prevention, early intervention, and intensive service programs addressing physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development.
- Collaborate with school staff, including teachers and support personnel to implement coordinated student support systems, within the school and community.
- Engage families and caregivers by facilitating communication, scheduling conferences (including EPC and case conferences), and promoting understanding of how social-emotional supports enhance academic outcomes.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with community agencies to provide resources and services that meet the needs of students and families.
- Promote positive student behavior by recommending and supporting policies and practices that support a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
- Guide and counsel students, parents, and staff regarding attendance, behavior, and student well-being, maintaining accurate documentation of interventions and outcomes.
- Oversee student attendance processes, including monitoring, reporting, and implementing follow-up procedures to improve attendance outcomes.
- Collect, analyze, and report data related to student services, program implementation, and student attendance.
- Remain current on best practices related to student development, including social-emotional learning, behavioral supports, and family engagement.
