The Evansville Community School District is seeking a compassionate and skilled nurse to provide individualized, student-specific care during the school day. This position supports a student with specialized medical needs to ensure safe access to education and full participation in the school environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide individualized nursing care for one assigned student throughout the school day.
Perform tracheostomy care, including routine assessment and maintenance, airway suctioning as needed, and monitoring respiratory status.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including tracheostomy dislodgement or obstruction.
Provide G-tube care, including routine assessment and maintenance, monitoring feeding tolerance, and maintaining tube patency.
Administer prescribed G-tube feedings, water flushes, and medications in accordance with physician orders.
Maintain, monitor, and manage all necessary medical equipment and supplies.
Collaborate with school staff, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
Document care provided in accordance with district procedures and nursing standards.
Qualifications:
Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Current CPR certification
Experience with tracheostomy and G-tube care preferred
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations

This is a student-specific position based on individual student needs.
School calendar position (190.5 days prorated based on schedule)
