Student Strategic Research Assistant

The Student Strategic Research Assistant is a student worker role within the Research and Prospect Management team. This position supports the identification and prioritization of current and prospective donors by developing prospect lists and research briefs as well as maintaining and organizing research data.

This position will require approximately 10 - 20 hours per week in scheduled shifts between 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be allowed during school breaks and over the summer. Start date is flexible.

 

What you’ll do 

  • Assist in building research briefs or lists of current and prospective partners

  • Organize and track past research projects

  • Improve efficiency of internal reporting

  • Uphold all fundraising and prospect research professional standards and expectations

  • Other duties as assigned

 

What you'll need 

  • Inquisitive, willing, and driven to learn

  • Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to learn new software programs as needed

  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team, who can take initiative and set priorities while being flexible 

  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties

  • ​Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Foundation and University business and confidential prospect information 

 

Relevant qualifications 

  • A current undergraduate or graduate student at Arizona State University. Student must be willing to sign and abide by a confidentiality agreement.

 

Preferred education and experience 

  • Students with an interest in non-profit leadership, business information systems and/or data management are encouraged to apply.

Preferred skills and abilities 

  • Ability to commit to working at least two consecutive semesters

  • Data management skills as this position may work with large datasets

  • Experience with a CRM platform
