East High school is seeking a Student Success Coach who is a relationship‑driven, data‑informed leader who supports students, families, and staff in removing barriers to academic success and well‑being. This role maintains an active caseload of students, monitors academic, attendance, behavior, and engagement data, and coordinates services with school and community partners. The coach implements restorative practices, facilitates professional learning for staff, and strengthens culturally responsive family engagement through outreach, home visits, and community connections. As a key contributor to MLSS processes and school improvement efforts, the Student Success Coach builds trust, advocates for equitable access, and helps create a positive school climate where every student can thrive. Evening and occasional weekend availability is required.
Qualifications Required:
Associate's Degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, Criminal Justice, or a related field
Successful experience working with diverse youth and families in an urban school or community setting
Knowledge of school and community resources available to students and families
Training or experience in restorative practices, non-violent crisis intervention, or related approaches
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and act on student outcome data
Qualifications Desired:
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, Criminal Justice, or a related field
Three or more years of experience in case management, student advocacy, or community-based youth services
Experience facilitating professional development or staff training
Bilingual or multilingual communication skills
Familiarity with District data platforms including Infinite Campus and Panorama

Data Analysis & Progress Monitoring
Collects, analyzes, and interprets student data - including academic performance, attendance, and behavior indicators - to identify trends and inform targeted interventions.
Conducts regular academic progress monitoring for assigned students, using District tools such as Infinite Campus, Panorama, and related platforms.
Develops and maintains accurate case records and progress documentation; prepares data summaries and reports for principals and intervention teams.
Attends Multi-Level System of Support (MLSS) meetings, contributing data analysis and intervention recommendations.
Tracks family engagement metrics and student outcome data, identifying emerging patterns that inform school- and District-level decision making.
Increases family participation in school surveys, events, and decision-making processes, actively reducing barriers related to language, technology, and access.
Case Management
Maintains an active caseload of identified at-risk students, providing structured, ongoing support through weekly check-ins, goal-setting, and individualized intervention planning.
Coordinates services and resources for students and families by partnering with school counselors, social workers, administrators, and community organizations.
Assists students with academic and attendance improvement, including intervention planning for chronic absenteeism and re-engagement strategies.
Responds to individual family requests for support, connecting families to appropriate school, District, and community-based resources.
Supports problem-solving and advocacy focused on individual student needs, serving as a consistent point of contact through transitions and challenges.
Establishes and sustains trusting, culturally responsive relationships with families through regular outreach, home visits, community events, and school-based engagement opportunities.
Identifies and maintains knowledge of community organizations and resources serving students and families; supports development of formal partnerships where gaps exist.
Maintains confidentiality in all verbal, written, and electronic communications; refers sensitive information to appropriate personnel.
Professional Learning for Staff
Plans, facilitates, and evaluates professional development for staff.
Collaborates with District teams to design and deliver professional learning that integrates culturally relevant practices.
Keeps administration and instructional staff informed of individual student needs and systemic barriers, promoting shared responsibility for student success.
Facilitates parent and family group discussions; plans regular opportunities that expand identity development, representation, and family voice within the school community.
Serves on school improvement committees related to engagement, behavior, and academics; provides data-informed recommendations and supports implementation of interventions.
Restorative Practices
Implements and models restorative practices as a primary approach to student conflict resolution, discipline support, and community-building within the school.
Facilitates one-on-one and small group restorative conversations, mediations, and circles to support students in repairing harm, rebuilding relationships, and developing accountability.
Partners with administrators and staff to support students whose behavior is interfering with academic success, providing proactive and reactive intervention using non-punitive frameworks.
Monitors student behavior patterns and assists in providing restorative interventions with students involved in recurring or complex behavioral situations.
Promotes a positive school climate by developing student leadership, conflict resolution skills, and peer support structures grounded in restorative values.
General Responsibilities
Participates on District-level committees aligned to the GBAPS Strategic Plan, with emphasis on student success, equity, and family engagement.
Actively promotes diversity, establishes best practices, and removes barriers for students of diverse backgrounds.
Attends District-sponsored meetings, professional learning, and community events as required.
Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Working Conditions:
Flexible daily schedule to permit attendance at meetings, professional learning, and school/community events
Work involves frequent disruptions and requires adaptability in response to shifting priorities and student needs
Regular travel within and outside the District, including home visits and community organization sites
Work involves frequent deadlines under pressure and requires sound independent judgment
Evening and occasional weekend availability required for family engagement events and co-curricular activities
