Student Success Coach

Position Summary
Responsible for supporting undergraduate students in their academic journey by providing individualized coaching, academic planning, and resource connection. Working under the supervision of the Executive Director of Student Success, this role empowers students to reach their full potential through proactive guidance and holistic support. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of student development, a commitment to holistic student support, and a passion for integrating faith in learning and mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one academic coaching to students, focusing on goal setting, time management, study strategies, and personal accountability.
- Proactively monitor academic progress and initiate interventions for at-risk students or those on academic probation.
- Collaborate with faculty, academic advisors, and campus departments to ensure students are supported academically and personally.
- Help students develop individualized success plans and regularly review their progress.
- Promote and connect students to available campus resources (e.g., tutoring, counseling, financial aid, campus ministries, accessibility services).
- Facilitate workshops or group coaching sessions on academic success topics.
- Maintain detailed records of student interactions in compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.
- Participate in retention initiatives, student success campaigns, and early-alert systems.
- Support the spiritual development of students in alignment with the university's Christian mission.
- Assist with orientation, registration and first-year programs as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, psychology, or a related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to student success and Christian higher education
- Ability to work with diverse student populations
- Familiarity with academic advising, student coaching, or related practices
- Master's degree
- Prior experience working in academic coaching or retention-focused university roles
- Knowledge of learning theory, developmental advising, or strengths-based coaching models

Work Environment and Schedule
- Standard office hours, with occasional evenings or weekends for events or workshops
