Student Success Coordinator

The Student Success Coordinator supports the academic success, engagement, and retention of UAF Honors College students. This position provides individualized academic advising, assists students in developing graduation plans, and connects them with opportunities such as undergraduate research, scholarships, capstone projects, and campus involvement. The coordinator also oversees student engagement initiatives, advises the Honors Student Advisory Council, manages enrollment and student success data, contributes to retention efforts, and supervises student employees. Working collaboratively with Honors College leadership and staff, this position plays a key role in fostering a supportive and enriching Honors student experience.
The successful candidate will be passionate about student success and committed to creating an engaging, inclusive, and supportive Honors experience. They will excel at building meaningful relationships with students, providing thoughtful guidance, and helping students navigate their academic and personal goals. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for balancing advising, event coordination, data management, and student supervision responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, student-centered, and proactive in identifying opportunities to enhance student engagement, retention, and overall success within the Honors College community.
Minimum Qualifications:
Baccalaureate Degree from a regionally accredited University and three years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Experience with Excel, Word, and databases.
Experience writing reports, tracking data, and developing presentations.
Experience with web design.
Event planning and coordination.
Position Details:
This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
This position is part of a bargaining unit represented by the Coalition of Alaska University Staff for Equity (CAUSE)-UAW.
