The Math 105 Coach will be responsible for attending their assigned section of MTH 105 and for assisting students with course related topics during class time. Coaches will also be responsible for staffing Math 105 drop - in hours on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays evenings from 7:00pm - 8:00pm for the duration of the fall 26 term.

Hours/Shifts Available: Hours will be based on your assigned section of MTH 105.

Rate of Pay: $16/hr

Number of Positions available: 2 (1 coach per section of MTH 105)

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Attend assigned section of MTH 105 (including Tuesday lab) for the duration of fall term.

  • Under the supervision of the Math Professor, the Coach will assist students with course related concepts during class time.

  • Staff MTH 105 drop - in hours Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays evenings from 7:00pm - 8:00pm for the duration of the fall 26 term.

  • Must meet with the Director of Student Success every two weeks and attend and one weekly meeting with the Professor teaching the course

Qualifications:

  • Must have completed 3 terms at Union College

  • Must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA

  • Must be available for 8 - 10 hours per week during the entire fall term

  • Must attend all required training 

  • Must have completed calculus through Math 115

  • Completion of Math 117 strongly preferred 

  • Must have earned an "A-" or higher in all math courses

  • Must be available to attend the course throughout the entire term
