JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the Direction of the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, the Student Support Coordinator supports nursing students in all tracks of the BSN program.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in nursing. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
LICENSE: Registered Nurse, unencumbered, active.
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of relevant experience; OR a combination of college coursework and related work experience to equal six (6) years. (Previous higher education professional nursing experience is preferred.)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Candidates must have current knowledge of higher education academic practices and knowledge of resources needed by students.
Current knowledge of nursing standards of practice.
Demonstrate clear and effective communication skills.
Ability to build rapport with students, internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities.
Ability to effectively connect students to external resources.
Follows evidence-based methods to improve student success and retention.
Develops and implements comprehensive student success and retention plans for undergraduate nursing students.
