Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Student Support & Engagement Coordinator on the Blue Ridge Campus. The Student Support & Engagement Coordinator serves as a generalist connecting students, faculty, and staff, on the Blue Ridge Campus to services and resources provided by the Division of Student Engagement and Success (SES). This role promotes student success by implementing strategies identified by leadership, partnering with departments to engage students through meaningful programming, leadership development, student organization advising, and providing non-clinical case management services. The position, located on the Blue Ridge Campus, provides holistic student-centered support and engagement. The incumbent will report to the Senior Dean of Students and may occasionally need to travel to other UNG campuses.

In addition to background checks for all cardholders, O.C.G.A. § 50-5-83 requires a credit check on all employees issued a purchasing card. Additionally, credit checks must be run at the time of Pcard renewal.

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and holds the responsibility of serving as a mandatory reporter for all Clery Act crimes.

Responsibilities

  • Foster engagement and belonging on Blue Ridge campus by developing and implementing large- and small-scale programs for students in partnership with university departments, rooted in UNGs 4 Pillars for Student Success (Academic Achievement, Sense of Purpose, Well-Being, and Belonging & Engagement). Collaborate on signature events and initiatives like Orientation, Weeks of Welcome, Nighthawk Kickoff, and LiveWellUNG.
  • Serve as a resource and central point of contact for the Office of the Dean of Students, Center for Student Engagement and Leadership, and other departments within the Division of Student Engagement and Success on the Blue Ridge Campus.
  • Serve as an advisor to the Student Government Association on the Blue Ridge Campus and use P-card for purchases on behalf of SGA.
  • Respond to referrals made to the Office of the Dean of Students for students on Blue Ridge campus. Manage a student support caseload of mild to elevated level concerns, providing individualized care, tailored intervention, and timely follow-up to students, and referring parties. Make referrals to and coordinate services with other departments as needed, utilizing diplomacy and discretion in working with students, faculty, and parents. Maintain student case files in Maxient, ensuring case notes and other records are maintained in accordance with university policies and federal and state regulations.
  • Provide crisis intervention services and resource referrals to students as needed. Collaborate with the university¿s Behavioral Intervention Team as needed.
  • Attend SES meetings and serve on a variety of committees, representing the Blue Ridge campus.
  • Assist with analyzing data to assess impact of programming effort and student support service delivery to identify areas for improvement in effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of one year of working with in areas of Event Programming, Student Engagement, Student Success, Student Life, and other related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters preferred.
  • Education in social work, higher education, counseling, or related field preferred.

Proposed Salary

  • The starting salary is: $21.20 hour.
