Reports to:Student Services Director

Job Objective: Coordinates appropriate student services necessary for instruction, support, and the social/emotional health and well being of our students including intervention.

MinimumQualifications:·Valid state department of education license/certificate.

EssentialFunctions: 1. Coordinates the effective delivery/advancement of educational programs consistent with the district's mission and mandated requirements.

  • Manage and oversee i-MTSS framework and implementation Helps staff develop procedures to gauge student progress toward achievement benchmarks. Facilitates solutions to challenges that impede student learning. Help teachers, parents, and administrators use timely tangible assessment data to identify teaching techniques, research-based tiered interventions and aligned resources best suited for each student. Actively supervises and evaluates/documents intervention. Monitor student attendance/performance data and intervention effectiveness. Provides leadership in matters of ethics and confidentiality. Works collaboratively with building leadership teams to support their needs for implementation. Supports MTSS teams in their implementation of data-based shifts related to student needs. Consults and collaborates with teachers, parents, and administrators to find effective solutions to learning and behavior needs, and expands educational interventions to mitigate special education over-identification and disproportionality.
  • Assist building teams with the 504 process Support counselor and principal for the consideration of all new 504 requests. Evaluate intervention effectiveness to determine eligibility. Ensure district compliance with Section 504 requirements. Meet with building teams to review 504 plans as deemed necessary
  • Manage and/or assist with state mandates related to learning and instruction - Third Grade Reading Guarantee, Dyslexia Guidelines, Literacy.
  • Collaborate with Building Test Coordinators on testing preparations- including all state testing, gifted screening and identification.
  • Supports buildings with legal guidelines for standardized testing accommodations.
  • Support Preschool Director.

    • Prepares/maintains accurate records. Submits required paperwork on time.
    • Provides prompt notification of personal delays or absences.
    • Uses active listening/problem-solving techniques. Respects diversity. Resolves issues tactfully.
    • Works with staff to ensure shared resources are used effectively.
  3. Pursues opportunities to enhance professional performance.

    • Participates in training to keep current with professional standards associated with work duties.
    • Updates skills as needed to use available task-appropriate technology effectively.
    • Works toward mastery of individualized development/performance goals as directed.
  4. Take precautions to ensure safety. Initiates action to manage/eliminate risks.

    • Maintains high standards for appropriate conduct. Recognizes and responds to prevent aggressive behavior or harassment. Complies with district procedures and state law when dealing with discrimination and suspected child abuse/neglect.
    • Serves as a contact person for emergency response services (e.g., fire, medical, police, etc.).
  5. Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.

    • Assists with unexpected/urgent situations as needed.
    • Implements workplace initiatives that advance district goals.
