  • Academic Interventions: Work 1-on-1 or in small groups to reinforce classroom concepts and help students catch up on missing work.
  1. Family Engagement & Home Support
  • Home-School Connection: Act as a primary liaison between at-risk students' families and the school to foster a collaborative partnership.
  • At-Home Strategies: Provide families with practical tools, routines, and resources to support their child's academic progress and homework completion at home.
  • Communication: Maintain regular contact with parents/guardians regarding student progress, wins, and areas needing improvement.
  1. Attendance Advocacy
  • Monitoring: Track daily attendance patterns for targeted at-risk students.
  • Intervention: Reach out to families when absences occur to identify barriers to school attendance (e.g., transportation, illness, anxiety).
  • Problem-Solving: Work collaboratively with students, parents, and school staff to develop strategies that encourage consistent, on-time school attendance.
  1. Student Success Planning
  • Grade Recovery: Identify students currently failing or at risk of failing classes.
  • Success Plans: Partner with the student and teachers, to co-create individualized "Student Success Plans" featuring realistic goals, deadlines, and actionable steps.
  • Accountability: Meet regularly with students to review their plans, track grade improvements, and celebrate milestones.
  1. Other Duties
  • Perform other student-centered duties as assigned by administration (e.g., check-in/check-out mentoring, assisting with school-wide intervention programs, etc.).
