General Description:
The Student Support Specialist provides customer service functions, enrollment and program support for NOVA Workforce. This position will be responsible to serve the students and NOVA Community at large in a timely fashion.
- This position is not eligible for telework.*
Duties and Tasks:
- Provide quality customer service
- Identify and assess customer's needs to achieve satisfaction
- Handle customer complaints and provide appropriate resolutions and alternatives
- Perform registration tasks and/or provide guidance to students
- Enter and maintain accurate data into the student information system
- Issue enrollment confirmation emails and letters
- Troubleshoot and resolve enrollment problems
- Ensure that instructors have all instructional materials needed
- Organize and maintain files and records
- Assist program developers/managers/coordinators to ensure logistical arrangements for programs are met
- Provide general office support tasks
- Assist with the marketing of classes
- Perform other related duties as required
- This position is restricted and is funded with non-continuous or non-recurring funding and is subject to continuation based on fiscal year funds and the needs of the College.

Minimum Work Experience:
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in an office setting with office procedures, managing files, schedules and paperwork.
- Customer service and forward-facing experience.
- Administrative office experience
- Must be willing to work at multiple Workforce locations due to the needs of the division
Additional Considerations:
- Experience in a higher education setting.
- Experience working with enrollment.
- Experience working with under-served and underrepresented populations
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
