Description

The Grafton School District is seeking a Student Support/Supervision-LMC to work on student days at Grafton High School. The Student Support/Supervision-LMC will be responsible for managing a study hall and student lunches. The candidate for this role needs strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers and great organizational skills to help keep students on task. This position will require the ability to work positively with students in a controlled environment. The Student Support/Supervision-LMC supports the operation and educational goals of GHS by maintaining an engaging learning environment, assisting staff and students with library and technology resources, and contributing to student academic success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

LMC Environment & Student Engagement

  • Create and maintain a warm, positive, and stimulating atmosphere that encourages independent learning and discovery.
  • Demonstrate creativity in designing an inviting and appealing media center space.
  • Promote the use of quality literature and resources for both educational and leisure reading.

Student Supervision & Academic Support

  • Support students academically through frequent grade checks and mentoring relationships.
  • Supervise student behavior in a fair, consistent, and positive manner within the LMC.
  • Lead and supervise student reassessment opportunities to support academic growth.

Instructional Support & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with students and staff to support instructional activities and media center use.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested by the Instructional Technology Coordinator, building principal, or administrative designee.
  • Assist the Instructional Technology Coordinator in carrying out the goals and objectives of the 3-Year Library Media Center Plan.

Organization & Materials Management

  • Organize and maintain media center materials using established systems.
  • Ensure resources and technology are readily accessible for students.

Technology Support

  • Use district-approved computers and software effectively to support library operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic computer hardware and software issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective interaction with students, staff, and community members.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time and tasks in various settings.
  • Functional knowledge of educational and recreational literature appropriate for students.
  • Ability to use and support district-approved technology platforms and systems.
