Position Description:

Graduate students with an interest in architectural research will support the instructor(s) in the delivery of a course that introduces interdisciplinary research methods employed within architectural research and practice. The course prepares students to participate in architectural research at TuSABE, such as research studios and thesis research, and supports students in leveraging interdisciplinary research skills in future professional endeavors. Student TAs provide peer mentorship and feedback on key assignments, supporting the instructor(s) in delivering personalized guidance on a range of proposed research projects.

Graduate students who have successfully completed the course in previous years are invited to apply.

Expected Duties:

For approximately 10 hours per week, TAs will be responsible for a range of activities, such as:

  • -Attending class routinely to track student attendance, in-class participation; entering attendance and participation information into Canvas.
  • -Supporting class and class prep, including adjusting slide decks or guiding in-class discussion of assigned readings.
  • -Tracking assignment submittals, providing feedback, and grading weekly assignments via Canvas; assisting the instructor in developing individualized feedback for major assessments, such as the research proposal.
  • -Hosting weekly office hours (in person or via Zoom) to mentor students as they build their research proposal projects.
  • -Attending a brief weekly instructor-TA coordination meeting.
  • -Scanning and uploading content to Canvas, as needed.

Proposed Schedule:

Class Wednesdays 8:45-11:45am; weekly coordination meeting; flexible otherwise.
