Department Bio - The GW Department of Classical and Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations (CNELC) instills in students a deep understanding of the social, cultural and physical environments of the ancient and modern worlds.
Position Specific Summary - The Latin tutor will provide high-quality language tutoring services for all currently enrolled Latin students in the Department of Classical and Ancient Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. Latin Tutor – Position Description: The Latin tutor must be able to:
Standard Position Description - The student will provide tutoring services for GW students or the DC community. Tasks may include: preparing tutoring lesson plans, teaching study skills, providing feedback on written papers or projects, tutoring in small groups, one-on-one, or virtually, providing supplemental education for courses and subject matters. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.

Required Qualifications - This is an entry level position, little to no experience required, all training will be provided (Students working in an instructional capacity should be very familiar with the subject area in which they are working).
Preferred Qualifications - Major or minor in CANES; Taken upper-level (3000 or higher) Latin either at GW or at another college, university, or study abroad program; CANES GPA of 3.75 or higher
