Job Summary

The Student Worker provides support to the assigned department while gaining valuable work experience in a professional environment. This role is intended for students currently enrolled in an accredited institution, offering them an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting. The Student Worker assists with various administrative or operational tasks and is expected to manage their time effectively to balance work and academic commitments.

Essential Functions

  • Assists with day-to-day departmental tasks that may include administrative support, data entry, filing, and organizing documents.
  • Supports department staff with specific projects or routine operations, such as preparing reports, updating databases, or creating presentations.
  • Provides customer service and support to employees, students, or external stakeholders.
  • Conducts research and gathers information for department projects or initiatives as assigned.
  • Maintains confidentiality and ensures data accuracy while working with sensitive information.
  • Participates in team meetings and contributes ideas for improving processes or enhancing department functions.
  • Completes assigned tasks on time while maintaining a high standard of work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience is not required, but previous office or administrative experience is a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in basic computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently or with minimal supervision.
