Yes Classification of the position: OtherDescription: Teaching AssistantCampus: Post Department Name: Veterinary Medicine Department's Dean and/or Director: Carmen Fuentealba Location: Building and Floor: Roth 300 Supervisor: Name: Brendan Caputo Title: Assistant Dean of Student Affairs Purpose or role of the position within the organization (Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities): Roles of a Teaching Assistant: Organize group sessions after regular class time to review material by reserving a small classroom via Assistant Dean Brendan Caputo brendan.caputo@liu.edu . Answering questions during group sessions is expected. Prepare PowerPoint presentations by using original teaching material/ PowerPoint and/or prepare new ones based on course learning objectives Prepare multiple choice questions and/or other activities such as games, Q&A sessions, etc. Provide advise/feedback on how students are learning, what concepts require revision, etc.
Duties and Principal Responsibilities: Teach material to current Vet Med Students
Education Requirements: LIU student enrolled in an active degree program Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience: Requirements: Have completed the course with an A letter grade Maintain an overall GPA > 3.5 Rate of Pay: $20 HR Period of employment: Begin Date: 9/2025 End Date: 5/3/2026 Evaluation procedures and schedules: Regular meetings with Assistant Dean
