Job Description

Student researcher - Catalyst Design and Development on Carbon Dioxide ConversionLocation LIU (Post)Hours Per Week 11 hoursDr. Cheng Zhang's research lab has an opening for part time student researcher in catalyst design anddevelopment through synthesis and in-situ characterization of catalyst materials for carbon dioxideconversion to value-added chemicals and fuels.

The successful candidate will support Zhang's research lab on catalyst synthesis via various synthetictechnique and catalyst testing using a flow-bed reactor and autoclave high pressure rector system forCO2 conversion. The candidates are required to have basic knowledge in catalysis, skills in catalystssynthesis and hands-on experience on catalyst testing. The candidates are required to use basicanalytical instruments such as GC-MS, NMR, UV-Vis and FTIR to understand the catalysts properties.

Basic QualificationsMust be enrolled as a full-time student in a degree granting program, Minimum of a 3.2 cumulative gradepoint average.

Additional QualificationsExperience with catalyst synthesis and characterization; ability to learn fundamental catalysis and;experience searching, reading, and interpreting peer-reviewed journal articles; experience working withMicrosoft Office software tools.
