Job Description
Name of the position: Student Worker Chemistry Lab AssistantCampus: PostDepartment: Natural Sciences Location: Building and Floor: Pell Hall, 3rd floorSupervisor Name and Title: Hanying Bai, Lab Manager Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:Preparation, set up and clean jobs of chemical laboratory. Assistance of lab instructor and students during lab class.Handle and disposal chemical waste.Duties and Principal Responsibilities:Preparation, set up, clean up of chemicals, equipment and glassware for use in lab classes. Management of the collection and storage of chemical waste generated during lab classes. Preparation of unknown samples for student analysis. Assisting lab instructor and lab students during lab classes.Education Requirements: LIU student enrolled in an active degree programTraining, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:Develop specialized skills in the proper preparation of chemicals and other lab instruments. the use of appropriate PPE and lab safety equipment.Rate of Pay: minimum hourly rateLIU is an equal opportunity employer.
