Job Description:
The Community Engagement & Events Coordinator will work closely with GWLS staff to support the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events, educational seminars, and community workshops. This role includes both logistical event support and external partner outreach to schedule and coordinate educational programming. The Coordinator will also assist with preparation of materials and ensure smooth on-site execution of events and trainings. This position plays an important role in expanding community access to legal education and strengthening GWLS's outreach and fundraising efforts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in planning, organizing, and executing fundraising events, educational seminars, and community workshops
Coordinate event logistics including scheduling, venue preparation, supplies, and day-of support
Conduct outreach to community partners, schools, nonprofits, and organizations to schedule workshops and seminars
Maintain calendars and tracking systems for events, trainings, and partner engagements
Prepare and organize materials for workshops, presentations, and educational sessions
Support development of presentation decks, handouts, and participant materials in collaboration with staff
Provide on-site event support including setup, registration, check-in, and troubleshooting
Assist in follow-up communication with partners and participants after events or trainings
Collaborate with GWLS staff to ensure alignment of events with organizational mission and messaging
Support donor-related events and fundraising activities as needed
Must be federal work study eligible
Ability to comply with University policies
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable with professional outreach via email and phone
Interest in nonprofit work, community engagement, education, or event planning
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
Experience working in and among diverse communities and settings
