Job Summary/Basic Function

The Desk Attendant is a student position within the Department of University Housing and Conference Services. DAs sit at the front desk of the residence hall and provide excellent customer service to residential students and their guests.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a registered student
  • Must reside in an on-campus hall (exceptions may be made with approval from your RAD)
  • Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.3
  • Must have a flexible schedule that allows them to work weekdays, weeknights, and weekends
  • May not participate in time-intensive academic coursework while a staff member where you would be in session all weekdays and weekends. This includes student teaching or some internships
  • Must complete 3 required clearances (PA Criminal Background, Child Abuse History, and FBI Fingerprints)

Preferred Qualifications Job Duties

  • Provide customer services at the front desk from 12 noon - 5pm and 10pm - 3am daily
  • Check students IDs
  • Perform Lockouts
  • Distribute mail and sign out packages
  • Sign Out Equipment
  • Sign in/out guests
  • Answer Phone Calls or Student Questions

Previous experience is not required. We will provide training to all.
