This is a part-time position at no more than 20 hours per week. The position may require evening and weekend work occasionally.
The Center for Asian Languages and Cultures (CALC) works in partnership with the Center for Global Learning and Engagement to promote intercultural learning on campus through events, seminars, and festivities that immerse students in various Asian Languages and Cultures.
Under the supervision of CALC Director, the work study student performs diverse duties and serves as a source of information for students, faculty, staff and other visitors. S/he will provide general guidance and explanation of procedures and may communicate on behalf of the director to explain or disseminate information. S/he will also provide administrative support including organizing file systems, coordinating meetings, as well as producing, proofreading and editing documents and spreadsheets. S/he will coordinate planning, promotion and logistics for meetings and special events. S/he may also assist with development of materials and brochures, updating web information and assisting with content and design.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Basic Requirements:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including word processing, editing, graphics, spreadsheet and database knowledge
Bookkeeping or basic accounting knowledge
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong writing skills
Working experience in higher education or international studies
Experience with website development
Experience with Canva, Instagram, and other social media and marketing tools
