Job Summary: Students will assist in all tasks related to production of greenhouse plant material. This includes both food crop and ornamental plant production, upkeep and management of hydroponic systems, and general maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lab Preparation for academic classes and labs.
Harvesting of lettuce, tomatoes, basil, peppers, cucumbers, arugula, etc.
Adhering to food safety guidelines and GAP Practices
Assisting with IPM program implementation including scouting, beneficial organism release,
and spraying of organic materials
General growing: seeding, transplanting, spacing, pinching, etc.
Grading, prepping, transportation of plants for sales, events, and on-campus display.
Daily upkeep of Greenhouse facilities.
Occasional outdoor work, and work with Horticulture Production crew.
Other duties as assigned
Education Employment eligibility:
Currently enrolled Delaware Valley University student
Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide required documentation to verify identity and employment eligibility
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Students need to be adaptable to changes in Greenhouse tasks as the year progresses.
Greenhouse or Horticultural experience is not required, but new skills must be learned and
applied.
Must work independently when needed.

Must hold valid driver's license
May have an alternative work schedule
May be required to be on-call
Indoor/Outdoor work. Students should be prepared to work in wet and dirty conditions and must dress appropriately
