Student Worker - Lead Floor Host

Purpose/Objective of the Role:
To be an assistant to The 1842 General Manager and acting manager when the General Manager is not in the building; fill in as a floor associate when needed.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Provide welcoming atmosphere
- Solve problems that arise
- Act as manager when GM is not in building; contact GM and/or Public Safety as appropriate to manage
- concerns
- Supervise other student workers when GM is not present
- Lead by example by assisting Floor associates with all duties and tasks
- Empty trash and recycling cans when they become full
- Clean up spills of beverage and food
- Dispose of trash and wipe down tables in between uses
- Provide tv channel changes when requested
- Ensure opening and closing tasks are completed properly
- Conduct bathroom and patio checks for tidiness once an hour
- Help to setup, run, and tear down special events
- Report equipment that is broken or not functioning as intended
- Report and actions or incidents that jeopardize student safety, damage property, or are unlawful that occur on the grounds of the facility; ensure proper procedures are followed in such situations
- Ensure proper ID checks occur for students planning to drink
- Ask students who are drinking without a hand stamp to see their ID and follow procedures/rules set if for underage drinking and/or a fake ID is found
- Help with set up and clean-up of The 1842 each shift
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills:
- Leadership experience
- Upper-class student preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Available to work nights and weekends
