Student Worker - Library

Job Summary:

The Library Student Employee provides responsive and timely customer service to faculty, students and staff to ensure that the library services function smoothly. The position entails a variety of clerical and administrative support tasks. The Library Student Employee works with librarians following established processes and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process printing requests and troubleshoot printers.
• Answer telephone, email, and in-person inquiries about the library and its services.
• Perform computer and physical searches for library materials.
• Check in, check out, and renew library materials.
• Shelve and inventory library materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education Employment eligibility:

• Currently enrolled Delaware Valley University student
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide required documentation to verify identity and employment eligibility

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent computer and communication skills.
• Strong Interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to effectively resolve problems and keep the Library Team informed.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Occasionally lifting 25 lbs or less
• Typically standing or walking
• Typically bending, crouching, stooping
• High noise environment (patrons talking, printers printing)
