Job Summary/Basic Function

Approved note takers take notes on lectures. They do not take notes on any materials read or viewed outside of class. They do not take notes on pre-recorded Zoom lectures unless they are specifically told to do so by Learning Services.

Note takers send their notes directly to their student in the format they have requested and on the schedule they have agreed upon.

Required Qualifications

Do not apply for this position unless someone has recruited you to be a note taker for a specific class. Note takers must meet the following requirements:

  • They must be enrolled in the course for which they are taking notes.
  • They must be recruited by the professor, the receiving student or Learning Services to take notes for a student who is registered with Learning Services for accommodations.
  • They must have excellent attendance and provide a copy of their notes directly to their student within at least 24 hours of class.
  • They must take thorough notes which are detailed and legible. They must submit a one-page sample of notes from any class to Learning.Services@millersville.edu.
  • They must complete a "Note Taker Information Sheet" with Learning Services each semester to verify employment.
  • Must complete the three required clearances
  • PA Criminal Background
  • Child Abuse
  • FBI Fingerprint

Preferred Qualifications Job Duties

Take thorough, legible notes on in-class lectures and discussion. Provide a copy of your notes to your student within 24 hours of class.
