The two limited part-time student worker paraprofessionals in the Transformation and Re-entry Through Education and Community (TREC) Program at Minneapolis College will provide individual and group support to justice impacted students at the college in order to improve student performance, retention and course success. These positions will provide support as needed.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Provide assistance with navigating and connecting with resources/support for housing, employment, food, and transportation from community organizations and agencies.
In collaboration with TREC team, assist with leading success workshops,
Ensure students are following proper procedures for equipment/materials usage.
Provide expertise for commonly requested non-course content assistance such as D2L.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be enrolled in a post-secondary or graduate program.
If the student is enrolled at a credit-granting institution he or she must be carrying at least six semester (nine quarter) credits.
If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, the student must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter.
Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency. Incorporates culturally responsive practices, and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent, demonstrated working knowledge of D2L, long distance learning and basic office software.
Basic understanding of course goals and outcomes.
Other Requirement
Current and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College to be considered for the position.
Work Shift
Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., up to 29 hours per work week. During the academic year, the hours may vary between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Student Worker Para Professional: $18.15 – $21.26 hourly / $37,897 – $44,391 annually.
