Duties:

The Catering/Prep cook is responsible for preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and organizing food stations for events, working in a fast-paced, event driven environment. Key duties include chopping vegetables, washing/portioning food, assisting with event setups, and maintaining high sanitation standards in accordance with local Health Department regulations. Essential requirements include knife skills, physical stamina, and 1+ years of kitchen experience.

MUST BE AVAILABLE MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

MUST BE A CURRENT HCC STUDENT FOR THE SUMMER AND/OR FALL 2026 SEMESTER.

MUST BE ENROLLED IN AT LEAST 6 CREDITS.

UNLESS FIRST-SEMESTER STUDENT, MUST HAVE ATTAINED A 2.0 SEMESTER GPA DURING THE LAST SEMESTER ATTENDED.

  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food prep equipment
  • Must be available Monday thru Friday for 20+ hour work week
  • 1+ years of experience in a fast-paced, high volume kitchen
  • Ability to stand for long periods, work in varying temperatures, and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with chefs and kitchen staff.

  • Wash, peel, chop, and prepare vegetables, fruits, and meats. Measure ingredients for recipes, assemble sandwiches, and prepare salads.
