Function:

The work-study position is responsible for providing confidential and sensitive support services for the Student Services Department.

Organizational Relationships:

Responsible to the department head or assigned supervisor for successful performance of assigned duties.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Front Desk Coverage: if department is in meeting or out of the area.

  • New Student File Organization: file new student documents and integrate new files with current files.

  • Graduate File Organization: organize file, scan documents, and verify scans.

  • Assist with Diploma Preparation: copying, placing in covers, and prep boxes for convocation.

  • Provide assistance in the completion of any special projects as assigned.

  • Provide assistance across the Student Services Department as assigned.

Methods of Accountability:

  • Through observation by assigned supervisor

  • Through compliance with College policies, procedures, and expectations that includes FERPA guidelines and annual compliance training

  • Through communication with and/or from the Student Services department staff, faculty, and students

Mental and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and bend to perform assigned duties

  • Ability to utilize necessary office equipment

  • Ability to keep all sensitive information and paperwork completely confidential

  • Must have effective communication and direction taking skills

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Requires basic computer knowledge and ability to learn skills

  • Must have an accumulative GPA of no less than 2.50 with no history of academic probation

  • Understanding of FERPA regulations and guidelines

Working Environment and Conditions:

  • Performs assigned duties in a ventilated, lighted, and temperature-controlled office environment
