Function:
The work-study position is responsible for providing confidential and sensitive support services for the Student Services Department.
Organizational Relationships:
Responsible to the department head or assigned supervisor for successful performance of assigned duties.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Front Desk Coverage: if department is in meeting or out of the area.
New Student File Organization: file new student documents and integrate new files with current files.
Graduate File Organization: organize file, scan documents, and verify scans.
Assist with Diploma Preparation: copying, placing in covers, and prep boxes for convocation.
Provide assistance in the completion of any special projects as assigned.
Provide assistance across the Student Services Department as assigned.
Methods of Accountability:
Through observation by assigned supervisor
Through compliance with College policies, procedures, and expectations that includes FERPA guidelines and annual compliance training
Through communication with and/or from the Student Services department staff, faculty, and students
Mental and Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and bend to perform assigned duties
Ability to utilize necessary office equipment
Ability to keep all sensitive information and paperwork completely confidential
Must have effective communication and direction taking skills
Education, Training and Experience:
Requires basic computer knowledge and ability to learn skills
Must have an accumulative GPA of no less than 2.50 with no history of academic probation
Understanding of FERPA regulations and guidelines
