Duties:
- The Title III Student Peer Mentor will engage and connect current HCC students enrolled in First-Year Experience.
- Support First-Year Experience (FYE) students providing personalized appropriate supports.
- Attend assigned First-Year Experience (FYE) course lectures.
- Assist First-Year Experience (FYE) students with appropriate social engagement within the Hagerstown Community College community.
- Provide appropriate modeling of classroom etiquette.
- Support First-Year Experience (FYE) students to advocate for the accessibility of course material - as relevant.
- Assist with executive functioning, organization, time management, study skills, test-taking skills, and assistive technology.
- Must be available to assist with New Student Orientation in the Fall and Spring semesters.
- Weekly check-ins with the Title III Retention Activity Coordinator on the progress of students in the First-Year Experience course.

Additional Information:
- Start date for this position will be at the beginning of the Fall 2026 semester.
- Current HCC student enrolled in 9+ credits for the Fall 2026 semester, with 15 earned credits from a wide range of transfer and career programs areas at the college.
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA
- Active member of student clubs and organizations and participate in college activities.
