Reports to: Assigned Campus Administrator or Designee

Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt

Dept./School: Assigned Campus

Hourly Rate: $8.50

Primary Purpose:

Provide clerical, customer service, and general support to campus office staff. Assist with routine office operations, student services, and special projects.

Qualifications:

Education and Certification

  • Must be actively enrolled Junior or Senior in a Denton ISD Career Prep program throughout employment

Experience

  • None required

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, parents, and community members
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficient organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications

Key Responsibilities:

Campus Office Support

  • Assist campus office staff with clerical and administrative duties as assigned
  • Answer phones, route calls, take messages, and provide basic information to students, staff, parents, and visitors
  • Assist with student check-in/check-out procedures and visitor assistance as directed
  • Prepare, organize, and file records and documents
  • May assist with mail distribution, copying, and other routine office tasks
  • Create student identification cards and assist with other campus support functions as assigned
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service to students, staff, parents, and visitors

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow district policies, campus procedures, and applicable safety protocols.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Environment: Work primarily in an office environment with occasional outdoor duties; regular interaction with students, staff, parents, and visitors

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
