Lift Up Academy Summer Leadership Opportunity

Student Leadership Positions Available (3 Positions)
Lift Up Academy is seeking Five motivated student leaders to serve as Summer Program Leaders for our Summer Basketball League Program. This opportunity is designed for responsible and enthusiastic students ages 14-18 who are interested in developing leadership skills, supporting younger students, and helping create a positive and engaging summer experience for participants.
Selected student leaders will receive a one-time stipend for their participation and successful completion of program responsibilities.
Program Dates:
July - August 2026
Stipend:
Ranges from $500-$1,800 based on qualifications
Student Leader Responsibilities
Student Leaders will work closely with program staff and directors to support the daily operations of the Lift Up Academy Summer Basketball League.
Responsibilities include:
- Check in daily with Program Directors and staff regarding schedules, assignments, and participant needs.
- Assist with daily student attendance and participant sign-in/sign-out procedures.
- Support staff with setting up basketball equipment and activity stations prior to program start.
- Assist with cleaning up and storing equipment following each session.
- Help manage basketballs, cones, pinnies, scorebooks, and other program materials.
- Assist with operation of the scoreboard and game clock during league play.
- Support power control and equipment management for speakers, scoreboards, and electronic devices used during programming.
- Serve as positive role models and mentors for younger participants.
- Encourage sportsmanship, teamwork, and respectful behavior among participants.
- Assist coaches and staff with drills, warmups, and skill-building activities.
- Help organize teams, rotations, and game schedules.
- Support conflict resolution and assist staff in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
- Assist with hydration stations, snack distribution, and participant breaks as needed.
- Help document activities through photographs, social media content, or program highlights when requested.
- Participate in leadership meetings and provide feedback to improve program operations.
- Support family engagement events, tournaments, celebrations, and end-of-summer activities.
- Complete additional duties assigned by program staff to ensure successful daily operations.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
- Be between 14 and 18 years old.
- Demonstrate leadership potential and responsibility.
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Be dependable and punctual.
- Have an interest in mentoring younger students and supporting community programming.
- Be willing to work collaboratively with staff and fellow student leaders.
- Have experience participating in sports, youth programs, or leadership activities (preferred but not required).
