Job Title: Subject Matter Expert I (Injury Surveillance / Epidemiology)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM  

Position Summary 

V-Tech Solutions Seeking a Subject Matter Expert I to support injury surveillance through data analysis, system development, and reporting related to drug overdoses and firearm injuries. 

Key Responsibilities :

  • Support design and management of injury surveillance systems  

  • Build and maintain analytic datasets (cleaning, merging, coding)  

  • Develop dashboards and reports (e.g., Tableau)  

  • Perform statistical, predictive, and geospatial analyses  

  • Improve data collection, quality, and monitoring processes  

  • Provide epidemiological and statistical consultation  

  • Conduct data linkage across datasets  

  • Support study design, analysis, and publications  

  • Ensure data quality and participate in QA/QI activities  

Qualifications :

Education: 

  • Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, or related field (required)  

  • PhD/DrPH preferred  

Experience: 

  • 1+ year of epidemiology or data analysis experience  

  • Experience with study design and analytics  

Skills :

  • SAS, R, STATA, SPSS  

  • Tableau or similar visualization tools  

  • Epidemiological methods & statistical modeling  

  • Geospatial and predictive analysis  

  • Strong analytical and communication skills  

Performance Expectations :

  • Maintain 5% data error rate  

  • Deliver timely, accurate reports  

  • Support ongoing data monitoring and improvements  

Work Environment :

  • Remote and/or onsite (Washington, DC)
