We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Behavioral Health Specialist to support clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. This role focuses on enhancing clients’ daily living skills, community integration, and sobriety through structured activities, case management, and evidence-based practices aligned with the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model.
Deliver training in substance abuse prevention and sobriety maintenance using 12-step principles and evidence-based approaches for co-occurring disorders
Provide transportation to community activities and AA/NA meetings
Develop monthly activity calendars and identify community resources to support recovery
Conduct drug screenings as needed
Complete documentation including treatment plans and progress notes
Organize and lead social and recreational activities tailored to ACT clientele
Manage a caseload of clients, coordinating treatment teams and updating care plans based on evolving needs
Offer supportive counseling and symptom management
Educate and advocate for clients and their families
Conduct comprehensive assessments across all life domains
Provide on-call crisis intervention during assigned nights and weekends
Maintain high fidelity to the ACT Model of Care
Plan and implement social, recreational, and educational activities that support sobriety
Complete Individual Treatment Plan (ITP) goals and required documentation
Deliver substance abuse education
Coordinate participation in 12-step community activities
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Services, or Addiction Counseling preferred
Minimum ADT Trainee Status or certification (CAC, CAC-AD) required
Experience:
1–3 years of relevant work experience in behavioral health or addiction services
On-the-job training (2–3 months) required for optimal performance
Requirements:
Certified or eligible for certification in addictions treatment
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong understanding of mental illness and addiction recovery
