Substance Use Disorder Counselor (SACIT)

Genesis Behavioral Services is currently recruiting for a full-time Substance Use Disoder (SUD) / Mental Health Counselor to work at our Community Based Residential Facilities (CBRFs). Counselors are responsible for providing individual and group counseling, case management, and maintaining oversight of particpants in our designated AODA Residential Treatment program locations that work in collaboration with the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division and USDC.

Responsibilities:

1. Provides assessment and client screening within established time-lines.
2. Discusses and completes case management assessment incorporating information previously gathered through the referral packet, client application, and collateral resources.
3. Monitors and coordinates performance of each of the client's identified needs through an individualized treatment plan.
4. Assists the client in achieving objectives and maximizing independence and productivity through support and training in uses of personal community resources.
5. Reinforces and serves as a role model/teacher/liaison for implementing concepts and objectives identified by the team.
6. Promotes skills to maintain a drug-free lifestyle.
7. Reinforces and encourages client's progress and utilization of the community resources and support systems.
8. Assists in monitoring and supervision of clients in the facility.
9. Provides assessment and treatment information to treatment team on an ongoing basis.
10. Contributes to the development and revision of each clients treatment plan according to established guidelines.
11. Participates in treatment plan review staffings for all clients.
12. Documents clearly and concisely all assessments, treatment provided, and major communication regarding clients, in appropriate format. Maintain current and complete client records.
13. Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator/Director.
