About the Role

Carolina Outreach is seeking a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Therapist to join our team in Wilson, North Carolina. In this role, you will provide individual and group substance use counseling, crisis support, and treatment planning to individuals working toward recovery.

Provide Clinical Substance Use Treatment

  • Deliver individual and group substance use disorder counseling using evidence-based approaches.

  • Support clients in developing skills for recovery, relapse prevention, and long-term stability.

  • Provide crisis support and intervention when needed.

Treatment Planning & Care Coordination

  • Develop and maintain Person-Centered Plans (PCPs) that reflect each client’s treatment goals.

  • Monitor progress and revise treatment plans as needed.

  • Coordinate services with families, community partners, and other providers.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, including:

    • Service notes

    • Treatment plans

    • Progress updates

  • Ensure services are authorized and compliant with program requirements.

Client Advocacy

  • Advocate for clients and families within the community.

  • Support connections to natural supports, recovery resources, and community services.

Additional Responsibilities (May Include)

DWI Services

  • Conduct DWI assessments

  • Facilitate DWI education and treatment groups

  • Provide individual DWI counseling sessions

  • Complete and submit DMV Form 508 documentation

  • Ensure all required fees and documentation are complete prior to submission

Additional duties may be assigned consistent with the responsibilities of a Substance Use Disorder Counselor.

Compensation

This role is compensated on a salaried basis, providing consistent earnings aligned with the responsibilities and expectations of the position.

  • Compensation: $52,083 - $66,880
  • This position is eligible for a $3,000 Sign on bonus

Placement within the range is based on licensure level, education, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy sessions
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with care teams as needed
  • Maintain compliance with all clinical and regulatory standards
  • Participate in supervision (if applicable based on licensure level)

Position Qualifications.

  • Education: Master's degree in Pyschology, social work or counseling.
  • Licensure: Must hold a LCAS/A in NC.
