Substation Electrical Designer




We are seeking a

Substation Electrical Designer

for our client on a direct hire basis. will help to design critical high-voltage substations nationwide. This is a hybrid opportunity based out of Boston, MA.


Job Requirements:




+ Develop electrical design documents including single‑line diagrams, panel schedules, plans, and details.

+ Produce symbols, legends, equipment specifications, and technical notes.

+ Support schematic design, design development, and construction‑level documents.

+ Coordinate drawing packages with civil, structural, mechanical, and other disciplines.

+ Assist engineers with power studies and quality assurance across deliverables.

+ Ensure designs meet NEC, IEEE, NESC, NFPA, and other applicable codes and standards.


Qualifications:




+ 7-10 years of electrical design experience within substations, distribution, or related fields.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.

+ Strong understanding of power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation.

+ Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or MicroStation (2D and 3D).

+ Experience physically laying down a substation and changing bays.

+ Knowledge of ANSI/IEEE, NEC, NFPA, ISA, and NESC codes.

+ Experience with PLC/HMI or SCADA systems, preferred.

+ EIT or PE license, preferred.
