LCRA is looking for a Substation Electrician to join our team! As a member of our Maintenance team, you will install, maintain and repair electric motors and equipment on the crucial infrastructure of Central Texas. You will work on complex tasks in LCRA locations including the Service Center and substations throughout our service area. How You’ll Contribute:
Locate and repair failures in electrical and electronic circuits and equipment; install test apparatus on all electrical equipment and implement solutions to electrical and electronic control system problems.
Install and maintain lighting, and other types of electrical equipment at power plants, communications facilities, substations, pump houses, dams and other locations.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and general upkeep of electrical and electronic equipment and test gear.
Read, interpret and update blueprints and drawings, consult manuals and parts lists to assist in performing work.
Operate handheld manual tools and power tools in performing electrical tasks.
How You’re Qualified:
One or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints.
A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
Class A Texas commercial driver's license
