We are looking for a

Structural Engineer

with a minimum 7 years of experience for our LA – Woodland Hills office, who wants to work and grow as a team player within our progressive multi-discipline firm. The successful individual will be a licensed engineer with solid experience in the design of steel and concrete substation structures. Experience with other buildings and structure types is also welcome.

In This Role You Will

+ Add expertise to our structural group in substation structures and foundation designs. Have the ability to work on many other exciting projects energy related as well as other markets.

+ Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of commercial & institutional building projects.

+ Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide a well-coordinated and high-quality set of structural drawings.

+ Lead project teams of engineers, designers and drafters to execute structural designs.

+ Meet with the project team to ensure effective communication flow during design.

+ Interface with the contractor during construction to ensure positive results with minimum complications.

+ Manage profitability of projects and maintain a working relationship with clients.

+ Work closely with the Discipline Manager to support the needs of the department, projects, and growth objectives.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

+ B.S. degree in Civil or Structural engineering.

+ 7 or more years of experience with design of concrete and steel structures.

+ Substation structure and foundation design experience.

+ Ability to work independently with proper engineering oversight.

+ Ability to work and collaborate in larger project teams.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

+ PE or SE registration in any state.

+ Registered CA Structural Engineer.

+ M.S. degree in Structural Engineering or related field.

+ Experience with SCE, LADWP, PG&E substation standards.

+ Multi-discipline project management experience.

+ Experience with 3D modeling software (ETABS, RISA, SAFE).

+ Must be a self-starter who is able to see the big picture and connect the vision of the company with his/her job, be persistent, and follow through in a consistent manner.

+ Passionate about the client or pursuit and takes ownership of his/her work.

+ Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment (or demonstrate ability to develop such abilities).

+ Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
