Join us. **Job Description** AECOM has a position available for a **Substation Engineering Lead** with a specialization in utility substation design. **The focus of your experience must be in the power delivery industry and be associated with electrical engineering with respect to the physical design of utility scale substation development.** The responsibilities for the position include, but may not be limited to: + Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team. + Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for substation scopes. + Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others. + Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables. + Develops estimates of technical efforts for projects. + Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings + Prepares technical specification sections. + Provides input for the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements. + Responsible for assisting with identification of key client interests and drivers and may determine the key clients in some instances. + Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work. + Remove any impediments that are obstructing the engineering team from achieving its goals. + Works to advise Management about how to maximize ROI for the team. + Attending all client technical review meetings. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. + Minimum 6 years of relevant high voltage substation design (physical) experience + Professional engineer license (PE) + Experience with use of AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation + Experience with use of CDEGS, WinIGS **Preferred Qualifications:** + Proficiency in assessing mechanical forces and thermal effects of high fault currents on rigid bus + Knowledge of construction practices and constructability + Experience with proposal writing and project estimating + Working knowledge of scheduling and project controls processes + 2+ years of overseeing and managing a project team + Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and assignments. + Superior Verbal & Written Communications + Good knowledge of the industry and technology trends specific to substations. + Strong familiarity with the NEC and National Electrical Safety Code **Additional Information** + Relocation assistance is not available for this role + Sponsorship for US Employment Authorization is not available for this position. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
