As a Group Leader on Olsson's Substation & Power Generation team, you will lead a skilled group of professionals focused on designing safe, reliable, and future-ready power infrastructure. This role is ideal for a leader who excels in mentorship, technical guidance, strategic planning, and who enjoys building strong client relationships while connecting daily project work to broader team and organizational goals.
Responsibilities
• Lead and mentor a team of supervisors and technical staff, supporting growth and development across all experience levels. • Foster a culture of open communication, trust, collaboration, and alignment with the Substation & Power Generation team's vision. • Oversee project execution and quality assurance to ensure successful delivery of substation design projects. • Monitor group performance, workload, and utilization to identify improvement opportunities and implement strategies that enhance efficiency. • Guide process development and resource planning to support operational excellence across project lifecycles. • Serve as a client-facing leader, building strong relationships and representing Olsson with professionalism and deep technical understanding. • Help team members connect their technical contributions to the broader goals and long-term direction of the Substation & Power Generation team and the organization.

Requirements:
• At least four years of experience supervising technical personnel, with a demonstrated ability to lead through others and support teams across varying experience levels. • 8+ years of technical experience in substation design or related high-voltage electrical infrastructure. • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred. • An associate degree with equivalent experience will also be considered.
