About the Opportunity
This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.
This is a full-time, on-site position located at any FirstEnergy location in Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
- Material Management- Coordinate emergent material needs with local supervisors and planners
- Coordinate supervision and field personnel with mobile equipment needs
- Create and manage Purchase Orders
- Utilize Coupa purchase and manage material needs
- Review and verify material lists
- Monitor delivery schedules and incoming shipments
- Notify supervisors and leadership of delays or issues
- Work with the CAET lab to help expedite equipment being shipped to and from the field

- Engineering & Commissioning- Work as a liaison between engineering and field personnel to address technical issues
- Track engineering prints and delivery timelines
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to address maintenance or warranty issues with equipment
- Coordinate commissioning as needed
- Coordinate and assist with engineering walkdowns
- Alert leadership to delays

- Data Entry & Systems- Coordinate with planners to maintain accurate equipment records in Cascade
- Ensure correct data for nameplates, triggers, serial numbers, and service dates

- Project Tracking- Update tracking sheets for material and engineering delivery
- Support future project planning including Cascade orders and RPAs

- Operational Support- Assist field personnel with technical issues such as MDTs, testing equipment or procedures
- Assist external crews with local coordination
- Contribute to long-term project development

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering technology or related discipline plus 1-2 years of related work experience, OR Associate's degree in engineering technology or related discipline plus 3-5 years or related work experience, OR High School Diploma (or GED) plus 6 years of related work experience. - Related work experience is knowledge of construction and maintenance practices, procedures, work methods, materials, equipment and tools which would be used to determine the resources necessary to perform construction and maintenance work activities.

- Current knowledge of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and National Electric Code (NEC).
- Understand the Company's Accident Prevention Handbook and Manual of Operations and the practical application in the workplace.
- Interpret work requests, engineering drawings, schematics, equipment instruction manuals and procedures to develop accurate work plans.
- Working knowledge of:
- The purpose, function, and operating characteristics of equipment, and distribution design, residential, commercial, and utility electrical distribution and control systems
- Construction methods, maintenance practices, service practices, standards and procedures
- Procedures and processes for the acquisition of materials, equipment and tools
- Understand and effectively apply knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements as appropriate.
- Develop, collect, organize and analyze information from a variety of sources to develop reports and provide information on backlog and productivity.
- Professionalism to work with engineer and management personnel, as well as interface and work cooperatively with customers, contractors and the general public, in a courteous manner that demonstrates FirstEnergy's rules of engagement.
- Maintain strong relationships at all levels.
