We are seeking dependable, caring, and enthusiastic Substitute Childcare Teachers to provide classroom support at childcare centers as needed. As a Substitute Teacher, you will step into classrooms when regular staff members are unavailable and help maintain a safe, nurturing, organized, and engaging environment for children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom coverage and support as assigned.
- Supervise and actively engage with children throughout the day.
- Follow the classroom's established schedule, lesson plans, routines, and center procedures.
- Assist with age-appropriate learning activities, play, meals, transitions, rest periods, and other daily routines.
- Maintain a safe, clean, positive, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, and developmental needs.
- Use positive and age-appropriate classroom management techniques.
- Follow all childcare center policies, licensing requirements, and health and safety procedures.
- Maintain appropriate teacher-to-child ratios and active supervision at all times.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with center directors, teachers, families, and other staff.
- Assist with classroom organization, cleaning, and sanitizing as required.
- Adapt quickly to different classrooms, age groups, schedules, and center environments.
- Report any concerns, incidents, or important classroom information to the appropriate center staff.
Qualifications:
- CDA, TCC, Associate’s Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Previous infant childcare teaching experience preferred.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
