Summary:The Substitute Food Service/Cook will assist in the preparation and serving of meals for the school district. This is a substitute position, which means that the employee will be called upon to fill in for the regular Food Service/Cook when they are absent.Responsibilities:* Assist in the preparation of meals, including measuring and mixing ingredients, cooking food, and serving meals* Follow recipes and menus provided by the regular Food Service/Cook* Ensure that food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and that it meets all health and safety standards* Clean and sanitize kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, wiping counters, and sweeping floors* Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies and keeping track of food and equipment* Communicate with other staff members to ensure that meals are served on time and that any special dietary needs are met* Other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director or the District Office.Requirements:* High school diploma or equivalent* Previous experience in food service or cooking preferred* Ability to follow recipes and menus accurately* Knowledge of health and safety standards for food preparation and service* Ability to work independently and as part of a team* Good communication skills* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time* Availability to work on short notice as a substitute.Food handlers card requiredBenefits: Sick leaveO
