Position Summary:Counseling In Schools (CIS) is seeking caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Substitute Group Leaders to support NYC after-school programs serving students in grades K–8 throughout the 2026–2027 school year. Substitute Group Leaders will support Activity Specialists and program leadership in maintaining safe, structured, and engaging after-school environments. Responsibilities include supervising groups of students, assisting with activities, supporting behavior management, and promoting social-emotional learning and positive youth development practices.

Duties and Responsibilities: • Supervising and engaging groups of students during program activities• Supporting behavior management using restorative and positive youth development approaches• Assisting with attendance, transitions, and activity facilitation• Building positive relationships with students and staff• Supporting safe and inclusive program environments

Qualifications: • Must be at least 18 years old• High school diploma or equivalent required• Associate degree preferred• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children under 13 preferred• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills• DOE and DOH clearance required 

Compensation: $20–$25 per hour, commensurate with experience
