Substitute Information

Mountainside Schools are always looking for qualified candidates to add to our list of daily substitutes. $125 to obtain a 5-year certification.

Substitute Rates: • $125/day - certified teachers • $115/day - substitute certification

Qualifications for NJ Substitute Certification: 30 college credits are required to apply. Minimum age: 20 Successful completion of a criminal background check

Step to Apply: • Step 1: Our district can sponsor you for criminal history clearance. • Step 2: Complete the criminal history record check process. • Step 3: Apply for the "Instructional Substitute" Credential online (with official transcripts). • Step 4: Complete onboarding paperwork (I-9, W4s, Mantoux/TB test, etc.)
