Job Summary

Under supervision, the Maintenance Worker I will perform a variety of unskilled and semiskilled maintenance, repair, and construction tasks in the various building trades; do other related work as assigned by Supervisor of Maintenance and Operations and/or Maintenance Worker II. This position may be required to work evenings and weekends.

Requirements: Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, including training and coursework in the maintenance trade areas. Experience: One year of experience as an unskilled and semiskilled worker in one or more of the basic maintenance trades. Attach any documents that you feel will help demonstrate that you meet the minimum qualifications listed above (i.e. resume, transcript, diploma). Documents you wish to attach should be uploaded via EDJOIN. A scanner to upload required documents is available in the Human Resources office located at 1330 Truxtun Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93301. • The documents will be scanned and emailed to the candidate. It is the candidate's responsibility to attach all documents to the EDJOIN application.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: A preplacement medical assessment/health screening, at office expense is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
