Substitute Master Teacher - Child Development Center at Fresno County Superintendent of Schools

Job Summary

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, provide instructional and classroom management supervision to infant and preschool age children for teachers who are absent for a day or longer periods of time. Teach individuals or small groups of students in a classroom or other learning environments. Prepare instructional materials, take student attendance, and follow regular teachers lesson plans to ensure consistency and optimal student learning.

  • Work Location: Light House for Children
  • Work Schedule: Varies (M-F, 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., On call as needed)
  • Anticipated Interview Date: Every Wednesday, 10:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Provide a comprehensive child development and early educational program for infants, toddlers, and preschool age children.
  • Substitutes working in Child Development require a post-offer employment pre-placement medical assessment, which is paid for by FCSS.

  • Copy of Transcript: Official transcripts will be required upon hire.
  • Credential: Valid California Child Development Master Teacher Permit, Site Supervisor, or Program Director permit, or Verification of Submission of Application to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing provided by the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools.
  • Letter of Introduction: One letter of reference is required.
  • Letters of Reference: One letter of reference is required. It is recommended that letters of references be authored by professional affiliations and specific to the open position.
  • Resume: A resume is required.
